Residence Domaine Iratzia is located close to the sea on the Atlantic coastline, just 400m from beautiful Erromardie beach. It is situated to the north of the bay of St Jean de Luz in the typically Basque family resort of Erromardie and enjoys a peaceful park setting surrounded by pine trees and gardens.
Just 2.5 km from the pretty port town of St Jean de Luz, nestled between the distant Pyrenees and the Atlantic Ocean, it is surrounded by wild coastlines and stunning countryside and close to the Spanish border.

The 3.5 hectares of landscaped gardens in a peaceful location make this a perfect family destination as do the heated outdoor pool and kid’s pool (not heated) as well as the selection of activities and games on offer. During the summer holidays in July and august children (4 – 11 years) can enjoy the supervised on site entertainment activities whilst other unsupervised activities include French bowls, Basque polo, children’s playground, tennis courts and table tennis (material can be hired). The nearby Erromardie beach with its water sports is just 400m away, is open all summer long and supervised during July and August.

The recently built residence is built in Basque style and comprises 14 individual buildings which have two floors. The colour scheme of these individual buildings represents the heritage of the Basque country: red for the bull’s blood; green for the nature and the blue for the sea. The 149 apartments have a modern and fresh design and are located in the 14 buildings spread amongst the gardens some with mountain view others with sea view.

There is a bright and modern restaurant close to the pool – great for enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner on the terrace before or after a dip. The residence offers free underground parking (subject to availability) for those who would like to explore the surrounding area and coastline by car. The nearby bakery, restaurants and bars are 200 to 300m away and there is a thalassotherapy spa centre offering discounts for guests and a mini golf course nearby.

St Jean de Luz is just 2.5 km from the residence and is well worth a visit with a bus link from just in front of the residence operating in July/August. This pretty fishing village rose to fame and became a hot spot with the French bourgeoisie after the Royal wedding of King Louis XIV to Maria Theresa of Spain took place here in 1660. The village has grown over the years but it still has its authentic Basque roots, pretty central square and port and colourful history.

Nearby Biarritz is another jewel on the coast and is well renowned as a top destination for surfers and water sports enthusiasts who enjoy the Atlantic sea with its high rollers. Be sure to visit the lesser known surrounding villages of Bidart, Urrugne, Sare with its caves and Bayonne with its ramparts, cathedral and Basque museum.

The self-catering apartments at Domaine Iratzia in St. Jean de Luz are fitted and furnished to a very good standard of comfort and convenience. The interiors are contemporary and fresh. They all have a flat screen satellite TV (payable), Wi-Fi access, telephone and a fully equipped kitchenette with 2 or 4-ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave-grill, coffee maker and kettle. Please note: for any apartments/chalets at Domaine Iratzia in St. Jean de Luz that feature bunk beds, sleeping in the top bunk is not recommended for children under the age of 6 years old.
